The first ever Beeston FC girls’ training session took place this week and was a hit with players and coaches alike.
Seven girls from school years seven and eight (aged 11 to 13) attended the event at the Beeston Hockey Centre on Monday. It is the first session in a series of four and the club hopes to attract even more girls next week.
Three FA-qualified coaches from Beeston FC took training, which featured one-to-one tuition and group work.
The girls worked on control, passing, dribbling, positional play and shooting in an action-packed hour.
“We were really impressed,” said coach, Josh Taylor. “The girls did really well. There was a range of abilities but everyone got something out of the session. It was great fun and we can’t wait for next week.”
Pupils from Alderman White, Chilwell and George Spencer schools attended the event.
We are hoping the success of this first practice session will encourage others to attend. Everyone is welcome, regardless of ability, and it is now FREE for the next three weeks.
The next session in on Monday November 20, 8pm to 9pm.
